The outline application has now been validated

The East Hertfordshire District Council has reviewed and validated outline application for up to 383 new homes on the former Hertford Gasworks site. This means that the council has checked the application and confirmed that it is complete. It has not yet made a decision, or reviewed the content of the application in detail.

The application asks for the following: Outline planning permission with all matters except for access for the erection of up to 383 new homes including affordable housing 1,500 sqm of employment space, car and cycle parking, access, open space, landscaping and associated works, improvements to Marshgate Drive and creation of a Spine Road in the Northern Sector.

The application and its documents can now be viewed on EHDC’s website using the application number 3/18/2465/OUT.

The application has now been submitted

St William have now submitted a planning application to East Herts District Council, to redevelop the former Hertford Gasworks, Marshgate Drive.

The proposals would transform a brownfield site, which has remained vacant for many decades, into a beautiful new part of Hertford. Our plans would deliver:

·          New walking, running and cycling routes

·         Enhancements to the towpath and River Lea Navigation

·         New public open space and recreation areas

·         Flexible employment space to support the local economy

St Williams launches consultation on proposals for new homes on former Hertford Gasworks site

St William have announced a public consultation on its proposals for new homes and employment space, on the former Hertford Gasworks, to the east of Marshgate Drive.

The proposals include a mix of home types and sizes to suit a variety of local needs, affordable housing, public open space, new pedestrian and cycle routes, improvements to Marshgate Drive. The plans also include measures for the remediation of land contamination resulting from former uses and the incorporation of green infrastructure which will protect and enhance biodiversity, particularly along the river corridor.

The consultation event is being held on Saturday 23rd June at the Mill Bridge Rooms, the Seed Warehouse, The Wash, SG14 1PX from 10 am to 3pm. Members of the team working on the project will be in attendance at the meeting and will be able to answer any questions regarding the plans.
